Biography

Desmond Avery writes and paints in Lincolnshire, where he grew up. He was an editor and writer for the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, after living and working in several other countries. He was taught art at school by the sculptor John Bunting and has a Cambridge MA in English, a University of East Anglia MA in Life Writing and a University of London (Goldsmiths College) PhD in French philosophy. He was born in 1945.
